Back to the subject of insurance--- I too am very sad to hear about this fire and the snide comments, from people who have no idea the amount of work that went into creating Crosswinds. I can probably clarify some of the questions about insurance, or lack thereof, or pick up some advice from those of you who know about these things. I have a good number of dogs in residence right now--not nearly what Crosswinds had, but enough that even in a fairly well organized setting with people present it would still be one heck of a job getting them all out in a fire. My home and contents are insured, but not the dogs. It's been my fear that insurance companies don't like homeowners to even own dogs, let alone breed them. Questions about insurance will raise questions about liability for a home based business with clients coming to see puppies. Fear of getting tangled up in a beaurocratic nightmare causes me to "self insure" where the dogs are concerned. |
