scruffs only listens to me outside when he hears me getting frustrated. whenever we are walking around outside and he is getting his "sniff" on or hears another person or dog, there is no way he's listening to me.
if we are at the dog park on the other hand, if he wanders off by himself for a little while (while we secretly watch him of course) and we call his name he always comes immediately.
it seems like if he knows i'm around and can see me, he doesn't care. if he is doing his own thing and then i show up, he wants to hang out with me. |
