Well it used to be farmland and there was a farmhouse where our house stands now. The family tore it down and built the brick house we live in now. The parents died (I assume in the house) and the son inherited it. He died a few years ago in the hospital. The couple had two daughters both died before they were 40 but they were married and out of the house by then. The sole survivor is the wife. She is currently in a nursing home suffering from bone cancer. That couple lived there for years and the whole town (It is a little bitty town) loved/loves them.
It wouldn't surprise me if the man were there. Adie and Skeeter stopped their nightly growling for a while when I called the man by name and told him where his wife was. I wish I weren't so shy or I would go to visit her. |
