I agree with the general consensus. I would wait until he is a least 6 months old before you have him neutered and then at that time have any remaining baby teeth pulled. Usually by 6 months old the only baby teeth that will be retained are the K9's which will need to be removed for the overall health of the mouth.
Leg lifting is strange--part of it is a learned behavior but another factor is the amount of testosterone in the system. My older boy started leg lifting (not marking) at 3 mos old--now he is 2yrs old and is intact but still squats to pee on his wee wee pad with one leg lifted lol. Luckily he has never marked in the house, however, on walks he will mark if given the chance. I believe he started marking outside around 8-9mos old. My 8 month old intact male puppy still squats--occasionally walking while peeing which is a bit annoying. He has no idea what marking is and refuses to pee on walks lol. The point of my novel is that puppies might lift their legs but that doesn't mean they are marking. Marking starts when they are a bit more mature so you have plenty of time. |
