When dogs get urinary tract infections they usually go unnoticed, because bladder infections are localized, and there are rarely signs of infection in other body systems, such as fever or purulent drainage. The symptoms of urinary stress, your dog pacing, whining, walking around in a detached manner, urinating in different areas then normal, are all signs that a UTI could be present. Going to the vet is the best bet. A course of Antibiotics will remedy the infection, and deter other complications such as drug-resistant kidney or prostate infections. Please keep us updated as to how the vet appointment went. |
