 Update
Buddy saw the vet last night...and avoided the dreaded rectal thermometer since he was bright and alert when the doctor examined him. We were given some metronidizole to help with the soft poop...and told to keep Buddy on a bland diet of boiled chicken and rice(which I was already doing). Other than that, the doctor did not find anything seriously wrong with Buddy. He did warn us not to give him bully sticks...which may have caused all this. The vet said that bully sticks can cause stomach upset...so we should not be giving them to our little dogs. We gave him a bully stick that I recently bought off of a YTer....just a few days before this all started. I had given him bully sticks before (but bought it from someone else)...and he was fine. I guess not all bully sticks are made the same. In any case, Buddy is ok, and on the mend. |
