You might want to try the Whelping Pudding Recipe.

1 envelope of geletin desolved in 12 oz of warm water (microwaved)

1 can of Evaporated milk

2 egg yolks well beaten

2 Tablespoons of Karo Syrup.


Mix well and refrigerate until it sets. Give 1 or 2 tablespoons a couple of times a day.

Hyperglycemia is brought on by stress, overhandling and letting them get enough rest and sleep, exposure to low room temperatures for a period of time or sleeping in drafts. You can also give your pup NutriDrops a bit rubbed in the gums...it works much faster than NutriCal. But, I do keep NutriCal on hand for puppies. Sometimes they just don't know when to stop playing.
