Just so you know, I completely understand and agree with your point. That was the first thing I thought when I read this thread. Yes, emergencies come up that people can't forsee that can burden you finacially. I don't think that anyone is claiming otherwise, but I don't htink that this situation exactly falls into that category, nor can it be blamed on the economy or the government. I think that what tobymom did was just verbalize the obvious.

Regardless, what is done is done and the sick little furball that needs medical care is the main issue now.
To the OP, let me first say that I am very sorry you are being faced with this heartbreaking situation.
Unfortunately, you are not likely going to run across any organization willing to just foot the bill for your dogs medical care, be it vet or otherwise.
Assuming that borrowing the money or putting it on a credit card are not options, my next step would be to talk with the vet and see if they will let you make payments. Look over the information in the link that was provided.
Your dog is very young--only 10 weeks, so I can only assume you just acquired him VERY recently? As hard as it would be, I would contact the breeder and see what help he/she is willing to offer. Maybe they are willing to help you with the costs of care, or take the pup back and have him treated as need be. Or possibly you could find a rescue organization in your area that would be willing to take him and have him treated. (I know the thought of giving him up is not one you want to consider, but if that's the only way... HIS well being comes first in this matter.)

Best of luck in figuring something out. Please do keep us updated.
