You know what is ironic is I work in social service, specifically with the foster care system so I hear pretty sad stories everyday about children and their experiences in abusive homes. So it isn't like I am sheltered from these things, I think it was just seeing someone die first hand was very sad and as someone said someone should never be a lone when this happens.
I previously had to be certified in CPR and First Aid but not in my current position since I manage now. I did think on the drive home I should go back and get certified. We can get it for free at work so I should take advantage of it.
