I am just reading this but wanted to let you know that a few years ago we had a Chihuahua beagle mix that was diagnosed with this same thing. We were so dumb when she started bugging my husband for his coke (which he would give her) we just thought she was being a pest. We took her to the vet when she started falling down. Our vet did the research and told us what he suspected and confirmed with tests. He told us her begging for and drinking the coke is what kept her alive. He told us about a specialist that would come and do the operation and we would maybe get a couple of more years with her. She was about 14 years old. We did opt to do the surgery and she came through it wonderfully and we got an extra three years with her before it came back. You opting not to do the surgery may be the best thing in the long run for her. I don't regret having the surgery done one bit even though it was expensive. It just may not be the best thing for everyone. Her cancer was attached to the pancreas, liver and another organ I can't remember.
