I really hope that breeders or owners out there do not find this to becoming a common practice in de-barking their dogs. With proper training any dog can learn when the proper time to bark is and when to stop on command.
the breeder explained she lived in a no-bark zone and had more than 60 dogs. when Max came to us he was EXTREMELY timid. he's since come round. he gets more attention than he'll ever need now.

nah...i'm not offended at all. trust me, i've heard all this before. the vets i've talked to said the proceedure is relatively harmless w/the possibility of minor complications.

i'm still wondering how common place it really is. i know when i was working in the school of vet science (while in college) many dogs were debarked.
