So I am so sad about my Layla I just don't know what to do. She has a liver shunt and since she hasn't showed symptoms until now they think for sure it is an internal shunt. I would have to spend $600 to do the ultra sound, then the surgery for atleast $2,500. That's what the Vets are telling us. She will be 9 in December, so I am so upset to think she won't be here for that much longer. All the information I have read has said that dogs who don't have surgery and are only medically managed typically are put down within 10 months of diagnosis. Does anyone know anything different. I can't afford the surgery.
