I have a new granddaughter too! She is 9 months old now. My daughter and her husband live just down the road from me so, i get to see the baby all the time! I also babysit her a couple of times a week. When Eva, granddaughter, first started coming over the furgirls would go out of their minds....jumping and whining until I let them see the baby. I sit on the couch and let the pups come up to the baby and sniff her...and BOY do the sniff her!! They lick her head and if I let them...they would lick her face too. When I sit her on the floor to play the girls will lay on the baby's blanket just close enough to keep an eye on her but far enough away so she can't touch them. They are very curious about Eva...we are trying to teach Eva to pet the dogs and be "nice"...that doesn't work! LOL...She has gotten ahold of their hair and pulled. Both of the girls have snapped at her but, only when she tries to touch them. I think Eva thinks the girls are toys for her!! I don't know if they will ever get used to her but, they DO NOT go after her...they pretty much stay out of her reach. Maybe you could try holding the baby and letting your furbutt sit next to you and sniff the baby. Maybe this would help.
Good luck..I know what you're going through
