We are away on vacation & Buddy keeps yelping!! Something is wrong with Buddy causing him to yelp in pain. We cannot determine exactly where the pain is coming from but it is somewhere on his front legs, chest, neck, etc.... He is NOT limping but all this started yesterday morning when I was loving on him he yelped really loud when I was barely hugging him. As the day went on he started to yelp when no one was around him. I have examined him over and over ....he seems to yelp out when we are in the chest and shoulder area. (but we cannot be certain bc he is so jumpy & nervous as we touch him) His yelping out of the blue is breaking my heart!! We are away on vacation and we are right on the beach ....he cries and barks if I leave him. (not unusual bc he loves the beach) He walked at least 3 miles with me yesterday and did not miss a step. (NEVER yelped once....of course I would of carried him if he acted as if he was hurt) He even was digging in the sand. Once back inside ....he jumps up and down off the sofa constantly but every once in awhile he will yelp. (he is a 10 pounder and has always been a jumper) This morning I took him out to walk and he was happy as could be just bouncing along on the beach then all the sudden he yelped and sat down!! (again, he is not limping) He has done with several times this morning when I have taken him out....yelps and sits. Then the next thing ya know he wants to play!!!! He is eating, drinking and pooping normally.
I would take him to a vet if I thought it was an emergency but I do not think this is the case. (plus it is Easter Sunday which I think I would have a hard time finding a vet open) Can I give him anything for pain? If he gets worse I will find a vet hospital but in the mean time I thought maybe I could give him something for pain. Can we give them something for pain? I have never had to do this & wasn't even sure if this was an option. Any suggestions?
Happy Easter to all!!!
