my oldest, kenji, didn't sleep in the bed with me till he was housetrained. i crated him at night. he's the first dog i ever owned so i was very strict with him and followed the book.
with my new baby, kingston, i tried crating him and following the same method when raising kenji, but he would cry when he saw kenji sleep on my bed while he was in his crate. he would give me the saddest look, so i eventually caved in. kingston has been sleeping in my bed with me and kenji. he likes to sleep right next to me while kenji sleeps at the foot of the bed.
there are no dominance issues, but i can tell it's just going to take me a lot longer to housetrain him. |
