The problem with chips is they are not UNIVERSAL. The shelter has to have the proper chip reader to read a the chip for the chip supplier. They are not foolproof way of having your dog returned to you.

Since the rescue that I volunteer for is based in TX, LA, NC and IL they have not had anything trickle their way. I would call the shelter for sure and let them know, possibly what chip reader they have and if it is comparable to what the local vet places. You just never know

If there was a way to get him to me in IL we could foster him here but AR might as well be the moon. It's not like me driving to IN to pick up Truman. I hate to see that little guy get adopted out to just anyone or worse PTS.
