With puppies, I think it takes practice. Mine used to get carsick and he still would if we go for long drive so we had to work with him for a little when he was young, start with a few minutes drive around the block. He never hate his car rides because he knows he is going somewhere but I don't remember him enjoying his car trips until I made him a car seat and strap him in it. He now (about 3 years later) can comfortably look outside the window or just lie down and relax and he totally loves to go for car rides.
