When I had my first Yorkie, many years ago I had never heard of any of these diseases. When did all this come about and what is causing all these problems in Yorkies?
Sadly, poor breeding. I have two friends (Delisa2850 and Mxkids) who have had legg-perthes surgeries on their babies. They would be happy to help and support you however needed.

Give Widget a big hug from us.
It seems to be the season for surgery on L/P.
Two other members pups just had it also.
Stedmansmom and Amandawash.
You might want to send them off a pm for some support.
Both are wonderful, caring people and I am sure they won't
mind.

Buddy and I are sending Widget good wishes for a speedy recovery.

The reason for L/P it's due to the fact that breeders are breeding
the mom's and dad with it and it's being passed down to the off spring.

That's way is so important to get your pup from a breeder who breeds
for the breed and not for $.

Good luck to your baby, he'll be fine in no time.
Different LP- the original poster's baby had legg-perthes, Tatum, Hot Rod and Ranger had luxating patella surgiers. Nonetheless, I know anyone of us would be able to help with post-op stuff if you needed it. Good luck!
