I don't do my own grooming, but, my groomer is my next door neighbor, and I can answer some questions.
Anal glands shouldn't even be messed with, unless the dog is having problems. When they do, I would advice you to take them to the vet, as you can hurt them if you don't know what you're doing.
You should never brush a yorkie when they're dry.
I have a pedi paws, I have tried it, believe me, they don't put their paws out as to say here mom, clip away like it shows. If you can get your dog to walk, then if you take him/her for walks on cement, that will keep the nails trimmed down.
