I have a grandson who will be 2 in June. Ben absolutely loves him! He gets so excited when he comes over. I would not leave them alone, just for safety sake, but they obviously enjoy each other. He has acted like this when he sees other little children too. You can tell, he really like them and wants their attention. My grandson has almost always been gentle. When he was real little, he would try to grab Ben's hair too roughly, but he learned not to do that when we explained it hurt Ben. Now he is great with him. He knows he can't pick him up but can have him sit next to him on the couch.

I think there should probably be a caution but maybe not so strongly worded. Children, even young children, can learn how to behave around a fragile dog. They need constant supervision, but they would even without the dog around. I think there are obviously a lot of yorkies that love children. It is sad somtimes to read how strict the rescues are -- too many poor dogs being deprived of a family that is ready to give them love and care. But they probably have been forced to create the rules because someone else before has caused a problem.
