SophieKate hates the rain and thunder also (but loves the puddles). In Georgia during the spring we have a problem, lots of puppy nerves, barking at thunder and refusing to go outside.
I am now starting to pad train her for when it is raining. We are still going out to the garage (same route we take when we go outside to potty). I open the garage door and than take her over the pad - she is kind of getting it so far.
