I would also love to see YT create some kind of rescue effort! I can also see how it could turn into an enormous headache for admin. The effort would have to be led by someone s/he trusts implicitly (do I hear Wylie's Mom?). Maybe this would be a limited registration sister site of some kind.
Some things I could see happening:
- YT members form regular yorkie trains.
- The organization leader affiliates with one or more existing pet rescues and helps with fundraising, etc.
- Taking official positions on animal welfare bills and encouraging letter writing. I see articles about various bills and there's usually some argument about whether the legislation is well written. I have to admit I usually just end up confused. If someone(s) made a concerted effort to keep abreast of legislation and give informed opinions on whether to support it, I think that would be really helpful.
