In looking at the VDACS numbers, it seems to me that the animals listed in the 'other' column under the 'received' heading are those brought in to be spayed or neutered. In the 'reclaimed by owner' column under the 'disposition' heading, those look to be the above mentioned animals, though the numbers aren't an exact match. I don't think you would consider these animals in the euthanasia % because these animals were never in PETA's possession other than for spay/neuter. It seems like the 'stray, seized and surrendered by owner' animals would be the ones you would use against the number of animals euthanized. Sorry if I'm mis-reading but that is what I got from the chart. |
