If you didn't see the news coverage of the demonstration at Westminster this year, just google it.

Please educate yourself about the proposed anti-breeder legislation in your community. Much of it will punish good breeders while the abusive ones will continue. These are community problems and until communities come up with workable solutions, animals will continue to suffer and unwanted dogs and cats will continue to be destroyed. Everyone who loves animals wants them treated ethically. PETA does not have the corner on that. But I want to know that my great grandkids will be able to have a purebred puppy to love and PETA does not.
That is the problem- MOST people haven't heard of the CCF so they don't realize where the information is coming from and how unreliable it is. I understand your feelings about peta and I did hear about the demonstration. It is definitely an issue that I don't agree with personally.

We don't have to agree on everything. I do agree 100% that peta does not have the market cornered on a desire for animals to be treated ethically and I think that is wonderful. They are actually not even one of the organizations that receive the a large part of money that we donate. They are one of the biggest who have done the most for animals worldwide though. This thread was about the euthanasia rate that has been brought up multiple times on YT and hopefully those who had issue with it understand the reality better now, both from the article Kimberly posted and the actual statistics that Ann posted. I have said several times in every peta thread that I completely understand it isn't an organization for everyone and I completely respect that.

I am very familiar with my own state's proposed spay/neuter bill and somewhat informed about some of the other states'. I try to keep as up to date as possible on all bills and laws regarding animals. I am a big letter writer and phone caller and I make sure I have my facts straight from reliable, independent sources. We can have a difference of opinion without that meaning one of us in uninformed.
