I have a $60 pair of human clippers I got at Sally's that I have used on Loki like 4 or 5 times, but they don't give a smooth finish with the combs/guards like he gets at the groomer with "his" blade (whatever size blade she normally uses on him) He has a very soft coat so it's probably missing hair and I have to go over it 10 times to get it all. It's just not worth it I just trim his face and paws with scissors in between groomer visits and let her do the clipping. If you are wanting to do it yourself, buy the dog ones. You can get them from Pet Edge. You can buy different sized blades so that you don't have to use combs and you get a much cleaner finish.
