If you plan on not spaying or neutering, I would suggest getting a girl. My Couver has a few annoying habits that I could not handle much longer (he is getting neutered next week). I take him to play dates, and all he wants to do is hump. Whenever we go over to to other peoples' houses who have babies who are not spayed; he marks. I would think that a girl would be easier if you are planning on not spaying her.
BUT if you do plan on fixing them, I believe both are equally amazing pets.
