Because Millie died from her spay, I will be doing a lot of research before I go down this road again.

I will not be doing it for the convenience of not marking or humping. I will not do it to avoid unwanted puppies - I will just be very vigilant. Millie was never out of our sight so, this was never a risk.

I will only get another pet spayed if I can be convinced it will have notable health benefits, and even at that, they may enjoy a long and healthly life without ever been spayed/neutered.

I think a lot of the spay/neuter campaigns are to prevent unwanted puppies, and I dont think this is a good enough reason to take that risk.
