I would indeed get her spayed. I would ask as many places as I could trying to get the most reasonable price. I think the best you could do on rehoming is probably just cover her spaying fees.

I'm sorry, no one will come close to pay what you guys did because I agree with many others that said it was way too excessive to begin with.

It's a rock and a hard place, but if you can't afford it I would indeed turn her over to a rescue if I could not spay/find her a home..even after thinking long and hard if I were in your shoes. It's that or keep a dog that is all ready costing me more money to keep, care for, and in vet fees for my other dog it fights with..I hate to sound insensitive but I think the longer you keep clinging to getting reimbursement for Emma from some source (including rehoming) the longer you hold on to her making her chances of rehoming somewhere she fits becoming smaller and smaller. My guess is she will just continue to become more aggressive and uncontrollable in the current situation.

I wish you guys all the best and I truly hope you and Emma find the end result that is best for all.
