Thanks for all the replies

To follow up, Remy was at the groomer on Wednesday. If you happen to live in Baltimore and are looking for a good groomer I would definitely recommend The Laundry Mutt in Federal Hill. Hannah (groomer) was terrific. She was extremely patient and spent a lot of time talking with me about what I wanted and holding Remy before getting to work...

Quick summary
1) During your appointment time there are no other animals at the facility, which I found really nice. No distractions with other animals, etc. They are a smaller operation, and groom 10-12 animals per day in back to back appointments...

2) I went with a basic, sanitary groom since I am going to try to let his coat grow. This took care of all the "necessary" stuff but did not seem to over whelm him. He did OK with the clippers almost everywhere, she had to use scissors to trim the hair around his eyes.

3) I was able to stay there the entire time, he only was a bit anxious with the blowdryer - would not let her blowdry his head. As long as he could see me he did not bark or cry... there was plenty of fidgeting, but overall she said he did well for the first time!
