The AKC does not have the best interest of the dog at heart..but they never have IMO. I think it should be 1 yr...even though that is too young for a female, at least it would be kinder.

The reason I say the AKC does not have the dogs interest at heart is because of puppy mills. They could have stopped them long ago. Putting a limit on how many litters a person can register in one year would curtail millers..but it would also cut into AKC revenue.
