I saved up for the purchase of Emma and endured quite a few expenses after she arrived in vet bills already.
As for the breeder, I didn't WANT a puppy. I wanted an adult. Raising a puppy is a lot of work and I didn't feel that I should spread my time that thin. Chelsey sells puppies. Occasionally she has adult dogs available but she didn't feel that any of what she had was a good match to my family and was honest with me about that. I respect and admire her for that. She could have made a fast buck from me but chose not to.
