I had a close call with my APBT a while back. I let her outside so she could play and use the bathroom. Usually, I'm right there to watch her while she's outside. Well, this day, I stepped inside for a minute thinking "I'll only be gone a minute..." and, when I stepped back outside... these two really shady guys were reaching over my fence and had a hold of her collar. So, I said "Hey, let her go or I'm calling the cops!" And they took off faster than a greyhound chasing a rabbit.
That about scared the heck out of me. Since then, I don't leave any of my dogs outside unsupervised. |
It is very scary,My cousin had a chow chow and someone tried to steal her from her backyard while they weren't watching...her story didn't have a happy ending because they stole her and she got loose and got hit by a car.
I think this was a reality check for all of us especially my roommate. She always pokes fun at me because when someone comes in I usually pick her up just to make sure, but this time I didn't hear my roommate come in until she closed the door.
