My Piper does the same thing with a stuff dog. I haven't found any back ups yet. I wash it very carefully on the gentle cycle in a knee hi. I thought Piper did this strange behavior because I know for a fact that the litter was separated from their mother at 6 weeks because the breeder had a female who had a litter and her milk never came in. The breeder took Piper's mom to nurse the litter.
