It's cool, because they also give you the option to individually subscribe to posts in which you would like to receive updates. All you have to do is go to the bottom of the page, under the message board, and look for the words, "Thread Subscription" even though your default is set to no e-mail notification, certain threads can be changed depending upon whether you want to be notified.
