You may think it not working, but once you change the default it will only stop subscribing to new subscriptions. In other words, you will keep getting old thread updates. To stop these as well, you can manually unsubscribed to them when they go to your e-mail address, or go to user CP, and it will show you a list of subscribed threads and you can manually unsubscribe to these if you no longer want updates.
By the way, under "edit options" and "Messaging and Notification" if you choose "no e-mail" notification, it won't send updates to your e-mail address, but YT will still have a list of "subscribed threads" under user CP. This makes it easy to check out updates without overloading your inbox. |
