This happened to Maddie once, but it was a white thingie...a maggot! She had a tick bite and the vet figured a fly laid an egg in that spot. I nearly freaked. That was in the summer and it was hot and very humid. Having that happen now is really strange, being so cold. As I was reading your thread and looking at the pictures, I thought it looked and sounded so much like what happened with Maddie, but I figured that couldn't be it when we still have winter weather.
Layla should heal up quickly, as I remember Maddie's healed up in no time. I'm so glad you got that taken care of. I would think it would be very bothersome...and probably painful until that creepy thing is removed!
