Yeah, I guess it would LOL. This meat locker also sells chickens and you can buy meat by the pound as well as a side of beef. We are going to alternate and once a month get beef then the next month pork. I'm reallly happy we found them. We don't eat anything else so no mutton or lamb. I didn't see veal on their list either although I didn't ask about it. We find that breaded chicken patties are just as good as veal patties for parmesian. |
I'm glad you were able to find a place you can feel good about.

My problem with the chicken is everyone I've found near me who does cage free does it on a small scale and slaughters them themselves. It is illegal in FL to sell meat that hasn't been slaughtered in a slaughterhouse so they get around that rule by giving you a "slaughtering lesson"

which brings the chickens up to approximately $25 each.
I actually did think of one thing I haven't tried though. We go to our farmer's market every Saturday so next Sat. I'm going to ask around to the farmers. I don't know how I missed that obvious possibility.
