Thank you to everyone. My fear of the steps is that they look kind of steep and I just imagine them tumbling when going down. Petco has set of steps Solvit PupSTEP + Plus Pet Stairs at PETCO that I'm considering but it's an online exclusive so I can't see it in the store firsthand. I have never had pet steps before. Since my girls are still young I would like for them to get used to using steps as opposed to jumping. Right now we use the 'pick me up' on demand method when they let me know they want up. If they look like they are about to jump down I put them down before they can make a move to actually do it.

I guess maybe I could try steps to take up less room for now but if they tend to be tumblers I could switch to a ramp. I hadn't even considered the width could be an issue so I will factor that in now as well.

Thank you again everyone.
