I worry because you never know what's going to happen. You should have your pup on a leash to make it easier to pick up. I'm glad that I have my pups leashed because I had an inccident where a pitbull, that was behind a gate, found a quick way out of the gate and went straight forward to attack my dogs. If I hadn't had leashes on them I wouldn't have been able to pick them up as quick and the injury would have been worse... So having a leash on is a great idea!
