Hi, I'm new to the forum! Found it when searching yorkie-related info online and have found so much terrific information. Very appreciated
Our baby is a 6-month old male "Remy" and it is time for him to have his first "real" grooming experience. I thought I'd post for the first time to see what suggestions would be made for selecting a good groomer for yorkies? Further, does anyone have input on specific "to-dos" (or not-to-dos) when it comes to professional grooming?
Remy is accustomed to my bathing him (usually weekly) and although we do a bit of battle in the tub he tolerates it pretty well. His overall temperament is pretty easy going - I can easily roll him on his back, rub his tummy, clean him after potty, play with his paws, etc. but I am reluctant to do any hair trimming or nail clipping myself and would like to defer to a professional. That being said I don't need him to get freaked out by a bad experience....
I have heard we should try to find a groomer who will allow us to stay with him, however one of the first groomers I called (who is apparently highly regarded) said that was not a possibility.... am a little confused!
Any input would be most welcome
