Not a yorkie, and definitely not a dog, but I did get my cat from an indoor mall pet store 9 years ago coming up this summer. I didn't know any better back then. Especially with the overpopulation of cats in this world and the many who need homes still. I feel really awful for not having put any thought into it when I bought the 10 week young kitten I saw in their window display / play area for $90 and even made use of their free vet check and so forth.
Luckily, she's been the healthiest little thing ever in spite of later finding out she may have been born with one defective tiny little kidney, but, thankfully, her normal working one is going on strong. She is a very curious and relatively active kitty (until her spay) and very rarely gets sick and is pretty good about not throwing up hairballs often in spite of her medium length hair. She's really smart and pretty easy to train. Very people oriented and is good with either tolerating or accepting new furry additions to the household. She had lost some of her bravery since her spay years ago, but that just means I don't have to worry about her running away and getting lost in the outside world. I was never a cat person although I always thought kittens were cute--not until I felt I had to have her.
