I would like to address everyone leaving their opinions about my fiance, that he has never had a pet before. This is his first pet. He is learning.
He grew up in a family that very much dislikes dogs, wants nothing to do with dogs, or any animal for that matter. He always loved my parents dogs, so we decided we would get one of our own after a little over a year of pondering. That being said, he absolutely loves Chloe, he would never hurt her or even consider hurting her.
I also want to say that he is not spanking the dog hard, not hard enough to hurt her at all. I still don't agree, but I just want to lay this out so that everyone can stop saying "imaging what he will do to your future children". You don't know my Matt, and If you did, I can guarantee you wouldn't be saying such things.
The things you are saying are rude and very unalled for. I didn't ask for relationship advice, or whether or not to leave my fiance! That is absolutely ridiculous. If I wanted this type of advice, I would have asked straight up (in the off topic section, of course!)
To the others who have given me suggestions, I can't thank you enough! It is nice to go through all the frustrating posts from others to find one that I can try myself or that doesnt upset me.
Also, to the kind lady to PM'ed me about this thread saying not to worry about some people's comments -- thank you!

I don't mean to rant and hurt anyone here, it's just frustrating to have everyone assuming that my dog is being abused and that I need to leave my fiance from one post from the beginning.
Anyway! Thank you for all your suggestions, those who gave them!
