Today is day 57 and Tinkerbell delivered 2 puppies before I got home today and they were not living.
(I had come home during lunch to check on her and she ate some chicken for me and seemed okay) One more was born right after I got home and it was extremely small - then about 15 minutes later she delivered 1 more - it looked lifeless but I rubbed it with a towel and did the sling thing several times, rubbed some more and it gasped and started wiggling!!
I put her next to Tinkerbell and she started licking her persistantly...
It has been about 1 1/2 hours and with assistance, she has been able to latch on to one of Tinkerbell's smaller teats. I am glued to the floor.. sitting by the playpen and staring at them...Tinkerbell seems perfectly content
Has anyone had a premature puppy on day 57 that lived? I have a heating pad on low under a couple layers of bedding, I have a large towel draped over half of the playpen to prevent drafts and I am watching CLOSELY.
Any suggestions for the night??
