I understand what your saying, but why put yourself through that and maybe worse? I never said pups from reputable breeders might not have problems, but it's less likely when you know your pups parents have been checked for health and have a guarantee from the breeder.
Reputable breeders do their best to improve their lines everyday and that means genetic testing to produce the best chance at having a sound healthy puppy.
Another reason is when you buy from a pet store or even from someone who bought from a pet-store or BYB you are only continuing to support suffering, simple. Did you ever see how the parents are treated?
No light, no human contact less food and crammed into a cage that they can't even stand up in.
Thats just my look on this for me, I would never buy a puppy where I didn't know the lines and have a guarantee of overall good health.
