wow, thanks for all the responses. I understand this is hard to watch, and its hard for us here also. I want to set you all at a little ease though.
This is the worst that it got. Since being on the meds he only has this kind of episode once a day and it is dramatically not as severe. I wanted to post it as it was before medications in hopes that someone might know what it could possibly be. Since being on meds it IS GETTING BETTER. I know it is killing you all to watch and I know you all care so that is why I am posting now to tell you he is no longer in that much pain. As soon as the vet saw it he did say he needed meds and he has since been getting better.
I posted it at its worst just so you can see it without meds, with meds its not as bad, please don't worry

he isn't in the pain like in that video any longer. I hate to think that I have any of you out there in tears...I will try to post another video of him soon so that you can all see him as he is not instead of just at his worst. I hate that I am worrying you all so much. With as many people as there are on these boards I was hoping that someone could shed light on it and you all have, I can now ask about stenosis at the next vet visit.
OH and also, the vet did mention the nerve damage as well. In which case the meds is all he can do and that is why he is on the meds. He said that "the prednisone will help the inflammation around the possible damaged nerves and the butorph will help the pain, and if the nerves aren't the problem then at least the butorph would help ease the pain of whatever is causing it" the vets words exactly, he too thinks we need an ultrasound and that is what we are doing now, looking for the right vet. I posted this all so that I could go in with some recommendations for tests, possibilites of what it can be, and also just some support.
I was so intent on putting in all details that I left some out and am sorry for that!!
