Hmm, that bruise is odd - I'd be worried too. I use
Chloe's Collars for Marcel and LOVE them (Wylie wears a leather collar). I get the breakaway, with a bell (bc he is small) - and I also have her do ribbon-on-ribbon so it's not "thick" - it's just perfect for Marcel.
Also, for small dogs - the collar should only allow you to fit your pinky tip btwn the neck and collar; if it was too loose, it could catch on things.
And it goes without saying, collars are only for ids/bells - not for leashing. I know you already know this, just saying it in case anyone new is reading this.
