 Here is what I did
We bought two yorkies at the same time. We started them in side a pen made with baby gates. The only room was for the play area, pee pad, eating area, and the bed. We kept making the pen bigger and bigger so they had to walk to the pee pad.
When we started letting them out we would make sure that they had just went potty then watched them like a hawk until they started to circle then took them back to pad.
When they started to go back to the pad by them selves we extended to time out of the pen. We always kept our eyes on them when they were out. Each time they went on the floor we back tracked to where we were before. It took a long time to trust them.
They really like to have a clean pad. when they get two pee's on the pad I put down a new one. Good luck. It'll be worth it, and don't forget you are the boss. |
