Once your boy has mated it will be more difficult to keep him from humping. I experience that first hand last weekend when our 6 year old Max who was neutured 6 months ago and was used as a stud dog before tied with our little Mikki who is in heat. They can't make babies but it is still a problem b/c they can get hurt...

I didn't realize that a neutered dog would still go after a female in heat? Is this true?
