She is exactly like how Brandi was when I first brought her home a few months ago. Like yours she was a rescue and she is 7 yrs old. She doesn't play with anything except me....meaning we play tag and hide and go seek but she doesn't play with toys or anything like that probably because she was used for breeding and was never really let out of her crate.
Be patient with her. I have had Brandi now for about 6 months and I have noticed behavior changes in her more each day....all positive changes. We are still working on the potty training (more my fault than hers) but she is now more confident and not as jumpy. I think she is now beginning to feel that this not a dream and that she has a forever home with someone who loves her. Some things about her personality I have no choice but to except things like she may never play with toys (which is cool...I can spend the money on other things) but that she does like to play. Find out how she likes to play and play with her that way.
As for feeding Molly, can't help you there because Brandi is like a freaking vaccumm cleaner she eat's anything and everything if I let her. Please give it some time.....you will see Molly's personality blossom as she becomes more confident that this is hopefully her forever home. |
