The restlessness and your observation of his urinary patterns are more indicative of a problem. Have him checked again. Be very specific with your vet of your observations. Those often add clues to proper diagnosis.

Whining and pain whining are two different sounds. Becoming increasingly astute to your yorkies vocalizations and facial expressions can tell you much about what is going on with him.
